About the Program

Reintegration Built Around the Individual

This effective program is tailored for the individual, using a research-driven process that begins when an offender is incarcerated and ends when he is successfully reintegrated as a law-abiding citizen.

Project Re-Entry services are provided both inside the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services and in the community — in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Police & Defense Forces and the Department of Rehabilitative/Welfare Services.

  • Assists former offenders in avoiding pitfalls associated with life after incarceration
  • Structured group-based curriculum offered in designated Bahamas & NC facilities
  • Reduces criminal justice costs and increases public safety
Our Mission

Improving Reintegration.
Reducing Recidivism.
Building Safer Communities.

The mission of the program is to improve the reintegration of ex-offenders, reduce criminal justice costs, and increase public safety throughout the Bahamas and beyond.

Pre-release sessions build trust and familiarity with inmates as they attempt to reconnect with the outside world — overcoming emotional barriers and learning to build healthy human connections beyond the prison walls.

Re-Entry Mission

Before They Walk Out the Door

Project Re-entry begins working with inmates prior to their release through a structured, group-based curriculum offered in designated prison facilities in the Bahamas and North Carolina.

Sessions assist inmates in preparing "home plans" through specific, targeted, and realistic topics related to transition — helping them think beyond the prison walls and overcome their own emotional barriers.

  • Inmates request referral through their BDCS case manager at a participating facility
  • Once approved, programming begins at the next scheduled program cycle start date
  • Curriculum builds trust, emotional readiness, and healthy human connection skills

Project Family

Project Family is a dedicated division of Project Re-Entry specifically designed to support customized, child-centred reunification plans for families with criminal justice-involved parents.

Recognising that successful reintegration is deeply tied to family stability, Project Family bridges the gap between a returning parent and their children — building stronger, more resilient family units from day one.
